Founder’s Note 

SahLan Academy is where education, beauty, and opportunity come together to change lives.

Founded by Lan Pham Vu, the academy was born from a powerful dream: to give others the same opportunity she once received — the chance to build a meaningful career with one’s hands, heart, and heritage.

Lan holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology-Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. With over 15 years of experience in health sciences, dentistry, education, and salon entrepreneurship, she also holds both Cosmetology and Cosmetology Instructor Licenses in Wisconsin.

As the founder of SahLan Nails & Spa — a five-time local favorite — Lan recognized the need for a school that teaches not just nail care, but also professionalism, hygiene, entrepreneurship, and compassion.

SahLan Academy was created to uplift underserved and underrepresented communities, preparing students for both the State Board exam and long-term personal and career success.

More than just a beauty school, SahLan Academy is a launchpad, a community, and a support system. Students learn from licensed instructors and seasoned professionals in a supportive environment that blends hands-on training, real-world skills, and lasting mentorship.
